Paihia

Paihia School was involved in the Experiencing Marine Reserves programme during the pilot stage in 2002, with teacher Paul Lindsay.

We started the project by looking at the human impacts at Paihia beach, and then we went down to Goat Island marine reserve and compared the differences.

The students presented their work to the community and ended their presentation with some reasons why marine reserves would be a good idea for the Bay of Islands .
