Auckland Region

WWF -NZ through the Marine Matters programme support the continued delivery of EMR in the Auckland region, their focus is to raise awareness of the Te Matuku Marine Reserve on Waiheke Island. WWF-NZ supported involvement of seven people at the National Marine Education Wananga last year. Department of Conservation support the on-going involvement of EMR on Great Barrier Island, to increase support for marine protection and continue to raise awareness of the Goat Island marine reserve by delivering the programme in the community of Warkworth. The Marine Education and Recreation Centre (MERC) also provide the EMR programme to schools on request.
