Synopsis
 
This film follows a group of students through the Experiencing Marine Reserves (EMR) programme, which takes them from their classroom to their own local marine environment and then to a fully protected marine reserve. We witness the excitement the students experience by discovering the diversity and multitude of marine life. As a result they lead action projects and become kaitiaki of their marine environment.

Director Biography

Fiona Pinkernell was born in Germany in 1973. She studied in Israel, New York and Germany where she completed her M.A. with a major in film studies along with communications and philosophy. In 2003 Fiona moved to New Zealand where she works as an independent filmmaker.
