Experiencing Marine Reserves - Schools - Northland - Matauri Bay

Matauri Bay School was on the Experiencing Marine Reserves programme during Term 1 2006.

Their local beach was Matauri Bay. The local Dive HQ Bay of Islands shop assisted in the water on the local field trip day.
Matauri Bay stayed on the Omaha marae during their trip to Leigh marine reserve.

The students plan to share their marine reserve experience with their parents on a parent teacher evening. The winner of the Poor Knights competition was Shona Lee Lawrence Samuals. Matauri Bay School's involvement on the EMR programme was sponsored by the Pacific Development and Conservation Trust.
