Last day of the boat show today!

Come and check out the boat show today - we have had a few hundred people through & some legends past our...

Since the establishment of the Whangarei Harbour Marine Reserve, Kamo High School, is a regular school involved in visiting and monitoring the marine reserve. We set up a marine reserve supporters group within the school, this group is now a student led group and they have called themselves SPEA (Students Promoting Enviornmental Awareness).

SPEA Rap

We say it lound and clear, cuz we're from SPEA. We're the students who give a damn and bothered to care. We're trying to change the way our people think and act, so we can keep New Zealand green and our lives on track. Protect the Whangarei Harbour Marine Reserve. All our underwater life and our intelligent birds. Back on October 18th, now haven't you heard. It's another year older for our marine reserve. It's an ancient place where you can snorkel around. Thers a very distinct noise of animal sounds. So swim with the fishes and turn off your switches. And if you do that  it will make a big difference. We recycle, reuse and reduce our plastic. Don't burn your rubbish because the efects are drastic. My name is Roy and my name is Coco. We're trying to keep the rubbish down to a low-low.
